In this vintage letter to the editor, a reader praised Mohammad Mossadegh and Egyptian Premier Mohammed Naguib.
At the time, Premier Mossadegh had just rejected the joint proposal on oil sent by Winston Churchill and Harry Truman. Gen. Naguib recently became Prime Minister after King Farouk was overthrown.

MID-EAST LEADERS
Three cheers for Iran’s Mossadegh and Egypt’s Naguib. These real men are honest and fearless. They put their own country first.
Mossadegh has told Truman and Churchill what they could do with their suggestions, and Naguib is jailing all the corrupt politicians and running the limeys out of the country. The socialized yellow-livered rats in Washington could learn something from these men.
