HEAR ISRAEL PONDERS PLAN
TO FLY 70,00 JEWS OUT OF IRAN

TEL AVIV, Israel, July 11—Israeli authorities are considering a plan to bring 70,000 Jews by air from Iran, it was reported today.

The scheme is expected to be speeded following the closing of the Iranian consulate-general in Jerusalem on Saturday. Observers said Iran was moving to gain the support of Arab nations in any United Nations move she may make in her oil dispute with Britain.

Since 1948, planes have brought 50,000 Jews to Israel from the Yemen [sic] and 107,000 from Iraq. The airlift from Iraq now is reaching its final stages.
